Esteban Rodriguez
Esteban Rodriguez founded and chaired an activist group whose stated “mission” included “Defunding the Police”.
Following the deadly anti-police riots in Cicero, Rodriguez claimed that looting was minimal and that a local grocery store didn’t need to be protected from vandalism and looting because “they have insurance.”
Esteban has called our police “racist” and said that signs thanking our first responders were “bullshit”.
In his first year as Executive Director of Corazon Community Services, Esteban Rodriguez led the organization into $100K in debt—the group’s highest level of debt since 2016.
Esteban promoted an idea from the Republican backed Illinois Policy Institute that would devastate the pensions of our teachers and police.
Rodriguez supported the “Fair Tax” plan that would give Illinois a top tax rate of 7.99% -- one of the highest in the country. Rodriguez also supported the tax plan on video in a Rizoma Collective town hall.
Rodriguez isn’t rooted in Cicero. He only purchased his home in Cicero in 2024, voted in Berwyn in 2021, and has previously identified himself as being from Belmont-Cragin.
